A wealthy man hires a tutor for his daughter, and strange events happen in his household. He reveals to the tutor that he and the tutor's father had offended a tribal god while working in a mine and were saved by a tribal girl named Ai-Zhu. They left her to die after she got bitten by a snake while searching for a tribal treasure. Ai-Zhu put a blood curse on them before dying, causing the wealthy man's family to suffer losses. Before dying, the wealthy man asks the tutor to bring his daughter to find Ai-Zhu and break the curse, but Ai-Zhu would only agree to save one person.

60 years ago, Zhang Sheng murdered the Qin family to occupy a prosperous feng shui site. Many years later, Zhang's garment factory prospered, but his son Zhang Jianming and his girlfriend He Xiuyun do not believe in feng shui and unintentionally destroyed the factory's feng shui, causing Zhang's misfortunes. Zhang's older son, Zhang Jianguo, fell in love with He Xiuyun but caused the factory to face difficulties. Bad things kept happening to Zhang's family until Jianming and Xiuyun sought a feng shui master's advice and went to the ancestral tomb to break the curse. At the tomb, they met Xiuyun's grandfather, who told them about the curse's harm and how to break it. He guided Jianming to break the curse.

Huang bought a haunted house at a low price and encountered problems that caused conflicts between him and his wife. Huang's wife befriended the neighbor Lin Sheng and spent more time with him, which made Huang jealous and resulted in a violent conflict. However, they discovered that Lin was hiding a surprising secret.

Photographer Chou Wai-ki encounters a robbery that causes him to lose three months of memory. He dreams of a girl watching someone killed by a knife, thinking that it is just a part of his memory. During the birthday celebration of his wife Ho Pui-chi, Chou and his friend Paul discover that Pui-chi is having an affair. Angry, he leaves home and meets the girl from his dreams, Wong Soh-ching, in Tai O. They fall in love, but Pui-chi cannot bear the loss of her husband and commits suicide. Unfortunately, this causes Chou's nightmares to come true.

Deng Zijun suffers from schizophrenia and is discriminated against upon discharge from the hospital. Fortunately, his mother and a passionate social worker, Fang Yuting, accompany him. Zijun becomes a part-time social worker through Yuting's recommendation. However, the cases with whom Zijun has conflicts happen to be killed. Zijun discovers evidence of the killings on himself, and the police start investigating him, causing him to doubt himself.

He Biao, who is insatiable about sex, buys Shen Ruyi from mainland China as his wife and abuses her physically. His neighbor, Liu Jinghua, tries to help Ruyi, but He Biao attacks him. In panic, Ruyi kills He Biao. After burying the body, they suffer from He's ghost's revenge. To save Liu Jinghua, Ruyi decides to self-immolate.

Joshimin, a Political Affairs Department agent, protects Japanese official Miyazawa during his HK visit. Joshimin is kidnapped by terrorist group Amira but manages to escape, raising suspicions from his superior Mr. Qi. Amira had actually put a remote-controlled bomb in Joshimin to kill Miyazawa. Joshimin discovers this and kidnaps Miyazawa to protect him. He tries to flee HK with his pregnant wife to escape the bomb's range. With Qi's plan and Thunder's help, Miyazawa is saved. However, Thunder sees Joshimin as a rival and tells him the location of Amira's base, intending to trap him. Joshimin goes alone, facing danger to redeem himself.

Shang, a martial arts enthusiast, meets boxer Ding who promised to quit boxing after a match against Tang. However, Ding was killed by Tang in the ring. Ding's ghost appears to Shang and trains him to avenge his death. Shang becomes the new champion under Ding's training and catches Tang's attention. Shang is about to challenge Tang when Ding discovers Tang's winning secret. Fearing Shang's defeat, Ding decides to enter the ring and fight Tang by himself.

Inspector Gao fails to arrest the 'Friday Killer', so he accepts the killer's challenge to protect dancer Chen Gui-ling. During this period, the killer gives Gao four hints about his identity and crimes. Gao identifies Chen as the killer, but Chen is killed later.

Huang Haochuan took in an illegal immigrant named Chen Fengmei. While sightseeing in Ta Ao, they were taken hostage by four robbers. In the scuffle, Fengmei, who has rabies, bit the robbers, and later killed them with Huang Haoshuan's help. Huang and Cheng became sexually intimate, and Cheng asked Huang to die with her; Huang regretted his decision and called his friend He Jingwen for help.

Five medical students, including Chi Hon-wah, Leung Ka-lai, and Cha Chun-chung, studied synthetic blood in the hopes of achieving a medical breakthrough. During the experiment, Yeung Yiu-nam became violently insane and was subsequently killed and buried on campus by his friends. Years later, Chi still felt guilty about Yiu-nam's death and tried to make amends by looking after Yiu-nam's sister, Lee Hau-ling. Chi and Hau-ling became close, but Yiu-nam continued to haunt them after his body disappeared during an autopsy.

Hui Suk-yu rescued Gao Jian, and the two developed feelings for each other. However, their relationship was sabotaged by Suk-yu's twin sister Suk-man, who hated men. Suk-man believed that Suk-yu had caused her lifelong loneliness and made Suk-yu promise never to leave her. After Suk-man learned the truth, Suk-yu decided to leave, but Suk-man was angry that her sister had broken her promise and locked her up. Gao Jian arrived and pointed a gun at Suk-man.

Reporter Chen Zihua infiltrated a cult to gather information, and the cult leader chose him as his successor before he died. Years later, Zihua and his family had moved on, but his new life was disrupted when a woman in a red dress appeared, causing him to have hallucinations, and murders began to happen around him. The cult's influence was still pervasive, and Zihua was determined to protect his family at all costs.

Author Lo Wai-ming wrote crime novels for a newspaper, but his stories became true crimes. Lo decided to catch the killer himself and met Chan Chuan, a former newspaper worker, who he hired as a cleaner. However, this mishap nearly puts his wife, Li Cheung, and his daughter, Lily, in danger. After the killer strikes again, Lo realized that Chan Chuan was the real culprit, who took justice into her own hand and killed people based on his novels. Chan Chuan imprisoned Lo, wanting to keep him for herself and also threatened to kill Cheung and Lily. Lo struggled to protect his family and find a way to escape and alert the police.

Michelle married Ho Sum for money but suffered from his abuse. She met Ah Wah and fell in love with him. Sum hired a hitman, Fat Biao, to kill them both after discovering their relationship, but he was murdered himself. Later, Michelle found a CCTV recording of the scene of the crime, exposing her to the killer's threat.
