
Wizards of Waverly Place
The second season of Wizards of Waverly Place aired on Disney Channel from September 12, 2008 to August 21, 2009. The season deals with the Russo children, Alex, Justin and Max Russo continuing to compete to become the leading wizard in their family. Also starring in the series are María Canals Barrera and David DeLuise as their parents, Theresa and Jerry, and Jennifer Stone as Alex's best friend, Harper Finkle.
Alex and Harper enter an academic competition, but Alex wears "smarty pants" that give her all of the answers. At first it's great, but Alex soon realizes that her cheating doesn't allow Harper to shine. Meanwhile, Max tries to con everybody at school into buying his water bottles.

Justin and Max steal Alex's diary only to have it stolen again by Gigi, Alex's arch nemesis. In an attempt to recover the diary, the brothers accidentally place Gigi inside the book and into Alex's secret fairy-tale princess world.

The kids fail at their group magic project, so Jerry devises a plan that will force them to work together. Now Alex must wrestle with sacrificing her first one-on-one date with Dean so that she and Justin can help Max's superhero, "Maximan," solve the crime and prove to Jerry that the siblings can work as a team.

Wiz Tech is forced to close, and the Russo's must take in Professor Crumbs and fellow student Ronald, who quickly develops a magical connection with Alex. Max teaches Professor Crumbs how to assimilate into the mortal world and Justin saves the day by finding the solution to reopen Wiz Tech.

After enrolling in Wiz Tech, Alex realizes her new crush, Ronald, has kidnapped her former crush, Dean. Max and Professor Crumbs join forces to become a dynamic duo, and Justin and Alex must team up to save Wiz Tech from falling into the hands of Ronald and his evil father.

Alex tries to avoid running into Harper at the annual Comic-Con type convention in order to protect her wizard secret but winds up revealing the truth after Harper takes a spin in Alex’s power laden Battle Diva costume. Meanwhile, Justin and Max work alongside Hugh Normous and the Emergency Wizards to make sure other wizards don’t perform any real magic.

When Mr. Stuffleby, a wizard guidance counselor, informs the kids that they must have a viable profession to fall back on in the event that they don't become wizards, Max chooses to become a street magician while Alex and Justin decide to form a band. They all test their skills by hosting a Waverly After Dark performance at the Sub Station.

Alex gets the lead as Tinkerbell in the school's production of Peter Pan but doesn't want the part. So when she enlists the help of a real fairy to sub in and play the part, it causes the production to get out of control and the play is not necessarily performed in the same way as the traditional Peter Pan fairytale!

Max makes up a disease to get out of gym class. Meanwhile, Alex finds out her art teacher is a 16-year-old girl, and turns her back. This results in art, Alex's best subject, being canceled.

When Alex, Harper and Justin are accidentally transported into a silent movie, Justin and Harper begin to recognize a closer bond between them. Things heat up at the restaurant when Theresa and Jerry begin arguing about who has the more difficult job. To determine who's right, the two switch places.
Alex and Justin bond with Max's new tutor and scheme to get her a permanent job with the family, but the plan involves Max failing a test. In the end they relize that Max's tutor is just an elf that's why they have been bonding with her.

Alex tries to outdo Justin by giving their dad Merlin's hat, which grants unlimited wishes for his birthday. When she thinks Jerry's wishes are too simple, she takes matters into her own hands, but is unprepared for the consequences, including a visit from an alien spaceship.

Justin wins an essay contest that allows him to go on the S.S. Tipton and meet London Tipton. Alex soon becomes friends with Bailey Pickett, and uses magic to bring Harper on-board. It ends on Hannah Montana: S03E20 Super(stitious) Girl (III)

Justin's new vampire girlfriend Juliet gets the Russos to change their lifestyle by adding healthy foods and exercise. However Alex is concerned about Juliet's true intentions for Justin when she discovers that vampires like the taste of healthy blood.

After Dean moves away, Alex continues to date him by using magic to enter his dreams. When he pays her a surprise visit and the real date isn't as great as she had dreamt, she searches for a way to break up with him. Jerry and his siblings, Kelbo and Megan (Jerry revealed to the kids they have an aunt), need to retake the Wizard test that, in their teen years, determined who got to keep their powers.
