Season 1

The residents of Smedsby learn of new plans for the suburb; Ahmed and Nour need assistance while filling forms; Jamila wants to step out of the neighbourhood.

The parents try to find a way to manage their financial troubles; Jamila lies about her job; Amin wants to enjoy his summer break.

Ahmed comes up with a solution that Jamila and Amin are not too happy about; Jamila learns of a secret Amin has been hiding.

Nour comes up with a solution that might be better than Ahmed's; Jamila enlists Amin's best friend Wasim to try and win him back.

When things finally look like they are going back to normal, Nour learns that her solution is not possible and struggles to tell the family.

The family makes a final effort to look for a new home and grow closer while facing uncertainty; help arrives unexpectedly when some friends offer refuge.
