Convicted of committing capital murder in 2004, he was sentenced to death by Judge Bobby Galvan in 2008 for a robbery that netted him and his two female accomplices, Angela Rodriguez and Christina Chavez, a grand total of $1.25. His victim Pablo Castro, a Mexican immigrant convenience store worker with young children, was left for dead.
