James tells Chloe it's over between them. Vinnie decides to take a more balanced approach to his natural therapies. Tom lies to his parents about his motorbike. Joel befriends John, in spite of being a cop.

John is furious to discover that Joel is prying into his past. James tells Chloe that he wants her out of the house. Is Peta playing games with Will? Gypsy discovers that life is not a bed of roses with her adult boyfriend.

Tom and Justine crash the motorbike. Will reckons he's discovered the secret about Peta's grandmother. John isn't too enthusiastic about Hayley's 'sorry book'.

Tom dobs himself in to Joel over the motorbike. Peta tells Will the shocking truth about her grandmother. John leaves Summer Bay with plans to find his family. After reading Alan Fisher's book, Marilyn worries that Donald won't be a good father to Byron.

Chloe tells James that they really are finished. James learns that Lachie has died. Tom is suffering from unrequited love for Justine. Marilyn decides that Fisher is a good father after all.

Irene hopes Lachie's death will help Chloe and James reconcile. Gypsy is insensitive about Jesse's grief. Duncan asks Alf some big questions.

Chloe and James break up for good. Will and Peta search for a bag woman to pose as Peta's grandmother. A famous producer arrives in the Bay with plans to buy the rights to On the Crest of a Wave.
