Nandini is on trial for Guna's murder, defended by respected lawyer Chellappa, a father figure to Sakkarai. Chellappa invites Sakkarai to the Ashtakaali festival but is soon found dead in a locked cottage with a missing gun. Sakkarai becomes the investigating officer, creating tension with Inspector Moorthy. In the locked room murder, Sakkarai finds a hidden shocker!

Amidst the festival chaos, Sakkarai grapples with the mute woman from the crime scene, desperate to uncover her identity. Nandini befriends a powerful inmate, while Malathy voices her mistrust of Inspector Moorthy. As Amman processions flood Kaalipattinam, young women from all walks of life emerge with fierce determination. Sakkarai receives a shocking call that blows the case wide open.

A verbatim confession from the 7 young women who surrendered at different police stations, each claiming to have killed Chellappa sends Sakkarai's head spinning. He requests Nandini to be his eyes and ears in the sub-jail the women are lodged in. In lieu of the festival, a low-key funeral is held for the grand man, Chellappa. Dhamu steps up in a time of need, making an immense personal sacrifice.
