Season 1

Luc keeps silent about the surprise party he has planned for Carine's birthday. When Cameroonian refugee and pen pal Innocent unexpectedly shows up on Luc's doorstep, he must find a way to politely send him away.

Now that Innocent lives with the uncles, Luc discovers that his dog Kürt is probably a racist. In addition, Innocent's presence hinders Willy in his work as an artificial grass salesman. Innocent doesn't feel welcome yet.

It is Sunday. Luc wants to practice on his flight simulator, but Carine wants to do something fun. Willy needs rest, but does not want to blame his old age for that. Meanwhile, Innocent doesn't understand why the uncles never visit their mother at the retirement home.

The uncles discover that Innocent keeps all of Luc's letters within reach of Carine, but some of the revelations in those letters wouldn't make her laugh. The uncles come up with a plan to avoid an escalation.

Luc is forced by the VDAB to work in Carine's supermarket. Innocent feels useless while waiting for his residence permit. It is the ideal opportunity for Willy to hire him as extra work force.

D-day. The whole family accompanies Innocent to Brussels where he has to plead his case with the Immigration Department. The uncles do everything they can to prevent him from invoking Luc's letters as evidence.

After Innocent's expulsion order, the uncles organize a benefit: Innocent Must Stay. The Persyntjes are pulling out all the stops. Fabienne makes frantic efforts to win Anke back.

It seems to be the end of story for Innocent. The whole family goes to great lengths to make sure he can stay, but he doesn't want to play along with all the plans.
