CHAN TAT MAN is a sales representative of insurance policies. One day he comes across a keen competitor who is a beautiful girl. She is also of the same career and he is convinced by her, becoming her client as he feels inferior. TAT MAN's performance is the worst in the company and he is always scolded by his supervi.sor - LEUNG WING_ CHONG. However he does take her words seriously. TAT MAN has a girlfriend HA HIU MAN for years. Their relationship is very intimate but his income is so low that they cannot get married. On the other hand HIU MAN is a girl with great capacity. Her achievement in her career is greater than TAT MAN's. For his self-prestige, she must be very careful in dealing with their everyday life. Moreover she has divorced twice thus she does not mind that marriage certificate. SAI MAN is moving to a new flat thus he asks TAT MAN to take care of his son KIN HON. However KIN HON loses his way.… ...

TAT MAN and HIU MAN have a quarrel. After consideration, TAT MAN realizes that he is too mean so he goes to beg HIU MAN to forgive him. TAT MAN buys a Chinese painting for SAI MAN's new flat. However it does not match the style of the house and he is embarrassed. Fortunately HIU MAN has bought a carpet for him. This solves the situation. HIU MAN knows that TAT MAN is having financial difficulties. For his self- prestige, she helps him secretly. - When TAT MAN is selecting present for HIU MAN's birthday, he-argues with another customer HIN KWAI. They are badly impressed mutually. In fact HIN KWAI is a super-star in insurance career. His performance is so good that he shocks everyone. He manages to do so by adopting his spai.ca l strategy. HIN KWAI joins TAT MAN's company. To prove his talent and strategy, HIN KWAI sets up a special group for those bad sales representatives and trains them.

HIU KWAI's theory is to decline one's own self-prestige. He stresses on the point that one has to serve his client from all aspect so as to win the clients' trust. - One has to become indifferent towards all other. TAT MAN does not agree with him. HIU MAN gives a mobile telephone to TAT MAN to encourage him. However HIN KWAI scolds him. In fact he wants to build up TAT MAN's courage. Although this makes he feel bad, TAT MAN's inferior character has been rectified. After hard work, TAT MAN approaches CHEUNG DICK SON - a rich merchant. He wants to make him his client bit in fact DICK SON is the boss of another insurance company. Under HIN KWAI's instruction, TAT MAN is able to handle the sales technique but he does not dare to approach CHAN CHOI. CHAN CHOI understands him so he asks his wife CHEUNG OI to purchase an insurance policy for him.

TAT MAN helps his client to deposit a large sum of money but he loses it on his way. He asks SIU TUNG and CHEUNG OI to help him. SIU TUNG is knocked down by a car.- TAT MAN is excited and claims that he can claim the insurance for him. CHAN CHOI thinks that he only caters for his own interest and thus feels discontented. SIU KUEN meets a handsome young man SUNNY when she is playing tennis at school. She is attracted but she does not dare to express her feeling. SIU KUEN is an active girl. She is rather rebellious and does not take her father's words serious. She only listens to TAT MAN. SIU KUEN attends her friend QUIN's birthday. SUNNY is also there. She tries her best to impress SUNNY and she manages to do so. QUIN is jealous of her and argues with her. SIU-KUEN arranges a meeting for TAT MAN and QUIN's father. QUIN intentionally spoils it and insults TAT MAN and SIU KUEN.… ...

CHAN CHOI knows SIU KUEN's behavior. He misunderstands TAT MAN, thinking that he tricks him. CHAN CHOI always scolds TAT MAN as he was very naughty and burnt their house when he was still a boy. They fight and CHAN FAT tells him that TAT MAN is his son. To solve the problem, CHAN CHOI beats him and he faints . CHAN CHOI is afraid that TAT MAN knows the secret of his birth.… ...

TAT MAN holds a feast for CHAN CHOI's birthday but many of their relatives do not turn up. ‧ KWOK is a colleague of TAT MAN's working group. His performance is so bad that he is always scolded by the others He feels inferior and thus is very depressed. HIU MAN is an active and optimistic girl and this wins her a lot of customers. Moreover many young men wants to date with her. One day her ex-husband - MAN LEE comes to visit her. To clarify the situation, she invites TAT MAN to attend the appointment with her. TAT MAN regards MAN LEE as his potential customer so he tries to flatter him. Later as he thinks that MAN LEE still loves HIU MAN, he is rather jealous. TAT MAN and his colleagues gather some money to gamble on mark six. By mistake he gets the wrong numbers and the original num?bers do turn out. In order to compensate he gets ±he same numbers for the next 10 lotteries.-He is being laughed at .

CHAN CHOI and his family are forced to take temporary accommoda?tion in SAI MAN's house. This creates many troubles. Many con?flicts arise and SA! MAN's wife looks down upon them. KWOK is subjected to much burden and this further worsens his performance and HIN KWAI is very discontented with him. KWOK can no longer take it and attempts to kill himself. HIN KWAI does not show mercy on KWOK and TAT MAN is angry with his cruel response and fights with him. He is dismissed at last. TAT MAN is rather depressed and he becomes mean on HIU MAN. As HIU-MAN understands his feeling. She tolerates everything. TAT MAN is taken care by fate as on one hand, he faces stumbling blocks in his career but at the same time he wins mark six, getting thirty million dollars.

TAT MAN is shocked by the arrival of his new fortune. It is incredible. As he sees the others changing attitudes towards him, he realizes the power of money. - SAI MAN and his wife have a polar change of attitude towards TAT MAN after his being rich. He can enjoy the materialistic life that he is always dreaming of and being flattered. He loves money. HIU MAN finds that TAI MAN has changed much. He becomes the slave of materialistic enjoyment , becoming ego-centric. She cannot tolerate him any longer. TAT MAN regards it as the suitable moment to marry HIU MAN. so he secretly makes the arrangement of their marriage. HIU MAN thinks that if she agrees. TAT MAN will simply think that money is everything. Therefore she suggests to delay their marriage.

TAT MAN takes care of SIU TUNG. He thinks that being a tailor can have no career achievement and thus he suggests him to have a new job. He tries to arrange everything for him. TAT MAN is awarded of being backbite. He discovered that money cannot match with one's status quo while Ideal and target are the driving force of life. Therefore he determines to make good use of his money. Incidentally TAT MAN meets CHUEK KI SING and he is convinced to invest on his restaurant. TAT MAN disregards SIU TUNG's talent and persuades him to join his restaurant. SIU TUNG is a man who does not know how to refuse so he agrees reluctantly. In fact SIU TUNG admires HIU MAN too but he is such an introvert that he does not disclose his feeling in front of her. He hides his love deep in his heart as he sees TAT MAN goes with HIU MAN.

TAT MAN finds that his restaurant is not running good. He goes to his neighboring restaurant and finds that it is making profits as it stresses on "fung shui". This opens his mind and he tries to modify the layout of his restaurant, thinking that "fung shui' is the key to success. HIU MAN agrees to marry TAT MAN as she sees that he has changed his attitude and works hard for his career. TAT MAN and KI SING have conflicts. They try to consolidate their role in the restaurant by winning support from their staffs. As TAT MAN has paid too much attention on his restaurant, he ignores HIU MAN. He asks _SIU TUNG to arrange everything for their marriage. SIU TUNG has more time to be with HIU MAN alone.

HIU MAN is sick as she works too much. Fortunately, SIU TUNG takes good care of her and she is touched. CHEUNG OI sees every?thing and knows that SIU TUNG admires HIU MAN and thus she re?minds TAT MAN. However TAT MAN does not take her words. HIU MAN is rather angry as TAT MAN only concerns his business, disregarding her. Moreover it seems that he does not care about their marriage. HIU MAN knows SIU TUNG's love of her. She is confused and worries about him. To release him, she introduces her good friend BABY to him, trying to abridge them but in vain as their characters do not match. BABY meets MAN LEE in an art gallery and through HIU MAN, they fall in love soon.

SIU TUNG makes a customer discontented. TAT MAN is involved. This creates a chance for KI SING to insult TAT MAN. SIU TUNG resigns thereafter. TAT MAN is invited by SIMON to a night-club where he finds SIU TUNG taking vital statistics for the mates there. He is embarrassed and he asks SIU TUNG not to tell HIU MAN. As TAT MAN has taken too much wine. he is sent to a motel and he is-found by MAN YAN who tells MAN LA. MAN LA-scolds TAT MAN. TAT?MAN thinks that it is SIU TUNG who betrays him so he beats him hard. TAT MAN wants to give SIU TUNG some money as compensation but SIU TUNG refuses to take it and states that their friendship has come to an end. HIU MAN is discontented with TAT MAN's attitude and puzzles about his loyalty towards her. She is disappointed and they quarrel and finally their marriage is broken. -

CHEUNG OI misunderstands HIU MAN. thinking that she has turned to SIU TUNG. She criticizes them but HIU MAN makes no defense. In fact she still cares about TAT MAN. TAT MAN confronts the first failure after his becoming rich. He also has conflicts with KI SING. He is so depressed that he indulges himself in materialistic enjoyment. TAT MAN comes across a beautiful girl SHIRLEY who has similar experience in love. They share their feeling and soon they become very intimate. In fact SHIRLEY is KI SING's secret lover. She has just been abandoned by KI SING. She approaches TAT MAN as he is rich. HIU MAN-feels guilty-in front of SIU TUNG and thus she takes good care of him. At the same time SIU TUNG thinks that she still loves TAT MAN and he tries his best to mend their love.

HIU MAN knows that TAT MAN is co-habituating with SHIRLEY and she is very disappointed. BABY and MAN LEE have decided to get married and HIU MAN-is depressed and feels inferior, SIU KUEN does not have good impression of SHIRLEY. She rejects to adopt her as she sees that TAT MAN listens to her only; SIU TUNG thinks that TAT MAN and HIU MAN's love has terminated and thus he has the courage to express his love but he is reject?ed by HIU MAN. SIU KUEN's performance in the public examination is not so good and cannot get a school-place in the university. CHAN CHOI is very angry. For her sake, TAT MAN declares that he will shoulder the responsibility to help her study abroad. SIU KUEN misunderstands HIU MAN and SIU TUNG so she always tries to shock her, making her embarrassed. HIN KWAI's strategy is subjected to criticism and his performance continues to decline. He is surpassed by WING CHONG who adopts a more conservative strategy. He resigns as he is no longer ac?cepted by other colleagues. TAT MAN holds a feast for his birthday and he invites SIU TUNG and HIU MAN to attend. At last he understands everything and regrets having misunderstood them but it is too late.

HIN KWAI shifts his interest to stock market and real estates after leaving the insurance company. He knows TAT MAN's weak point, so he convinces him to make investment according to his suggestion. TAT MAN is deceived by HIN KWAI, believing that money can gener?ate more money for him. At the very beginning, he does some achievement which makes him indulge in it and trapped by HIN KWAI. TAT MAN wants to send SIU KUEN to study in Canada but she re?fuses. He thinks that she does not want to leave her boyfriend SIU SING. Therefore he wants to bribe him to leave SIU KUEN. SIU SING refuses and this wins TAT MAN's appreciation of him. SIU KUEN knows TAT MAN's act. Regarding that it is an insult, she is very discontented.

TAT MAN's relationship with his family is becoming worse and worse. HIN KWAI makes use of the chance to flatter him, making TAT MAN trust him. To win his trust, HIN KWAI tries his best to help him making more money and TAT MAN finally becomes a billion?aire. TAT MAN becomes a money-minded person. He wants to run rear estates business. He even buys the building in which he is living illegally. CHAN CHOI is rather disappointed with his behaviour and he works Jointly with his neighbours against TAT MAN. CHAN CHOI does not admit him as his son. CHAN CHOI cannot withstand the shock and is Jll. He is sent to hospital. CHEUNG OI calls TAT MAN to visit him. However by mis?take SHIRLEY forgets to tell him.… ...

TAT MAN realizes that SHIRLEY does not suit him as they are of different characters and they cannot communicate. She is a beauty but she is not willing to share his problem. He feels lonely. TAT MAN meets HIV MAN again. They enjoy the meeting and they have dating again. In fact HIV MAN only concerns him as he is her friend while TAT MAN wants to rebuild the love between them. HIU MAN faints in the street and "she is suspected to have suf?fered from cancer . She does not want her mother to worry so she conceals her problem. It is a heavy burden and she wants to kill herself. TAT MAN rushes to the hospital to visit HIV MAN. HIV MAN is touched and she wants to accept TAT MAN once again. TAT MAN does not want to marry SHIRLEY so he‧ tries to delay their marriage but she claims that she is bearing his baby. This puts him in a dilemma.

HIU MAN is informed that she is not suffering from incurable disease, she is relieved and shares her joy with TAT MAN. At the same time, HIV MAN is rather discontented with TAT MAN who shows no regret to his behaviour and flatters SHIRLEY though he still loves HIV MAN. HIV MAN feels lonely as her mother has to migrate abroad with PHILIP. As HIV MAN is depressed, she wants to talk with SIU TUNG. However SIU TUNG has a new girlfriend so she dares not to approach him. SAI MAN needs a large sum of money as he wants to go abroad. He asks for TAT MAN's help. Inspire of his former in proper atti?tude towards TAT MAN, TAT MAN does show hiss support. SAI MAN feels guilty of himself. HIV MAN has to go to Japan for business purpose. She invites TAT MAN to accompany her. They enjoy the trip so much that when they have arrived at Hong Kong, they feel frustrated.

After careful consideration, TAT MAN has a decision in his love affairs. He determines to marry HIV MAN and leaves SHIRLEY. He wants to tell SHIRLEY his decision but she has made an advertise?ment in the newspaper. This makes him angry. TAT MAN finds that he is on the brink of bankruptcy as his money has been taken away by HIN KWAI and his company is in serious debt. TAT MAN requests SHIRLEY- to sell her jewellery to help him but he is refused as SHIRLEY admits that she loves his fortune only and finally she leaves. TAT MAN is in such a difficulty that he wants to kill HIN KWAI. HIV MAN rushes to stop him. At the time being, HIN KWAI is killed by his enemies. TAT MAN is suspected. CHAN CHOI gives him a helping-hand, but he always discloses the fact that TAT MAN is not his son. TAT MAN is shocked. Can TAT MAN be proved innocent ? Can he rebuild his fortune ?
