WONG CHUNG is n factory worker who has a girlfriend called YUK CHU. In order to realize their marriage plans, CHUNG takes up several jobs at the same time, one of which is working as a cab?driver at night. On the day of his father WONG LUNG's birthday, he is held up in a robbery and is late for the banquet.. CHUNG has a friend LAM WING MAU, who is selfish and always take a advantage s of CHUNG. YUK CHU finds WING MAU’s behaviour irritating, but CHUNG is generous enough to overlook it.A woman whose facial skin is damaged seeks out CHUNG for compensation. CHUNG remembers having sold some cleansing lotion to the woman when he once worked as a salesman. The woman is hysterical and the fact that YUK CHU and her mother happens to be there doesn’t help but causes greater confusion.

WONG CHUNG has a chance of being promoted to the position of assistant foreman. But WING MAU tricks him into giving it up. YUK CHU is furious. YUK CHU's mother has little liking of CHUNG because of ‧his inferior job. She arranges YUK CHU to go out with a relative CHOU CHIU who comes back from abroad. CHUNG is instigated by WING-MAU who contrives to test YUK CHU’s love for CHUNG. Though disappointed, YUK CHU finally forgives him. They have a date, but CHUNG falls to turn up because he is called by WING-MAU to take his regnant wife to the hospital. YUK CHU is further discontented by the incident. She pours out her misery to CHOU CHIU. When CHUNG learns that YUK CHU is seeing CHOU, he is depressed with jealousy.

Seeing that CHUNG is dejected. YUK-CHU once again forgives him. They undergo great hassle to get YUK-CHU’s mother to approve their marriage. An incident happens in the factory and spoils WING-MAU’s chance of being promoted. WING-MAU beats up CHUNG savagely, thinking that he is the cause. On the wedding day, CHUNG receives the news that WING-MAU intends to commit suicide for not being promoted. He rushes to his place and misses the time for his marriage registration. Waiting CHUNG with no avail, YUK-CHU leaves the registry resentfully. WONG LUNG is injured ill a car accident. Thinking that his father is killed in the accident. CHUNG is in great grief.

Feeling low and depressed, CHUNG goes up to the roof contemplating suicide. YUK-CHU’s mother happens to be there. In collecting her dry clothes, she accidentally pushes CHUNG down the building. As his body lies in the hospital’s emergency room, CHUNG’s spirit travels to the underworld and meets a guard of the underworld, WAI SIU Po. WAI is chasing after a convicted rapist and asks CHUNG to lend him his body. WAI wakes up in possession of CHUNG’s body. He talks of getting the convict, which mystifies his family. They take him to the mental doctor, thinking that his brain is damaged during his fall. YUK-CHU decides to marry CHUNG in the hope that he will get well soon.

The rapist appears in the wedding ceremony causing WAI to start his chase after him. YUK-CHU is totally dismayed. Just when WAI nearly gets the convict, a young woman LAU KA MAN passes by. She is fear stricken thinking that the two men are robbers. During the confusion, the convict escapes. The rapist has a mind to KA MAN’s beauty. WAI arrives in time to stop his molestation. But KA-MAN shouts for help mistaking WAI to be a bad guy. A young man YAN SHING SHEUNG passes by and takes WAI to the police. WAI finally gets the convict with the help of KA MAN and SHING SHEUNG. But they wouldn’t believe his story about returning to the underworld. WAI misses the hour and cannot revert to where he comes from.

As WAI misses the time to take the convict back to the underworld, he decides to give him to the police while he takes possession of CHUNG’s body and stay in this world for another year. Attracted by KA MAN, SHING SHEUNG begins to woo her. Being beautiful and clever. KA MON has a strong and independent character who often evinces arrogance to her admirers, Despite of this, SHING SHEUNG continues to court her. Learning that CHOU CHIU will soon leave Hong Kong. YUK CHU’s mother SHUK KUEN tries to persuade YUK CHU to go away with him. YUK CHU refuses and insists to wait for CHUNG’s recovery and marry him. Refusing to study a subject selected by his father YAN CHUEN, SHING SHEUNG has abandoned his studies abroad and return to Hong Kong. He avoids seeing his father as he hates to lead the boring merry life of a rich man’s son. Neither does he wants to inherit his father’s giant enterprise……

SHING-SHEUNG determines to leave Hong Kong silently. Before leaving, he discovers YAN CHUEN has been quite sick but still working overnight. Feeling guilty, SHING-SHEUNG decides to stay behind and look after his father's business. YUK-CHU finds CHUNG a totally different person and is very cold to her. Feeling very depressed, she promises to go for a trip with CHOUCHIU. CHUNG(WAI) goes back to work in the factory. His colleagues are surprised to find that the once honest and innocent CHUNG has changed to a sociable and sophisticated person. At the same time, SHING-SHEUNG is asked by YAN CHUEN to work in the factory starting from the very bottom. SHING-SHEUNG and CHUNG (WAI) gets acquainted and becomes good friends. CHUNG's brother WONG PAK and wife KIT-CHONG have a small cafe and lead a steady life. However, thinking of their son's future, KIT-CHONG decides to emigrate to Panama and open a restaurant there……

The spirit of CHUNG talks to WAI In his dream. Bidding him to take care of YUKCHU so that she would wait patiently for his return from the underworld. SHI NG SHEUNG observes a lot of things happening in the factory as he works with the junior staff'. He learns from his father the key to a successful management. In his private life, he is content to act ambivalently towards KA MAN. He hides away his real identity. To test her sincerity, he borrows CHUNG's place to entertain her. WONG PAK fails in the cookery class and dares not return home. He meets CHUNG in the street and go hanging out in the bar. When he finally returns home drunk, he boldly speaks up, to the surprise of his wife.

CHUNG (WAl) meets KA MAN in the street and is stunted by her beauty. He tries all means to approach KA MAN but she remains indifferent. SHUK-KUEN is worried about YUK-CHU's marriage and tries hard to arrange matches for her daughter. Feeling hurt, YUK-CHU has a quarrel with SHUK-KUEN and leaves home in anger. Having no place t o go, YUK-CHU stays with CHUNG's family. Knowing that he cannot hide the truth from YUK-CHU any longer, WAI reveals the fact that he is only possessing CHUNG's body and that he isn't CHUNG. After recovering from the shock. YUK-CHU pulls herself' up and decides to wait for the real CHUNG to return to her. SHING-SHEUNG notices somebody is smuggling out toy products from the factory and sell s them to the retailers. YAN CHUEN instructs him to buy the goods back at a higher price and investigate the case. The plot is, in fact. designed by CHUN-POR……

Knowing that WAI is innocent. SHING SHEUNG asks his father to forgive WAI. YAN CHUEN even gives his consent to reemploy WAI. As WAI gets back his job, he somehow thinks that he is related to YAN CHUEN. There is a rumour that WAI is CHUEN’s half-son. WAI believes whole heartedly arousing a few giggles. YAN CHAT worries that SHING SHEUNG will take up the family business. He contrives with his assistant KWAN KUEN so that SHING SHEUNG loses confidence in his workshop that it will eventually leads to his resignation and leaving Hong Kong. YAN CHUEN accidentally discovers YAN CHAT’s private dealings. CHAT also confesses his transferring the company’s business to his own private set up. The shock gives YAN CHUEN a heart-attack who dies before SHING SHEUNG arrives at the hospital.

YAN CHUEN' s will stipulates that CHAT and SHING-SHEUNG both get an equal share of the factory. Dissatisfied, CHAT plans to grab the controlling share, while at the same time pretends to take care of SHING-SHEUNG's interest. SHING-SHEUNG plans to restructure the factory. Afraid that. SHING-SHEUNG will discover his embezzlement, CHAT puts a temporary lid on his own activities. Having discovered RHING-SHIWNG's real identity, KA-MAN is suspicions of his sincerity. She mistakenly takes SHING SHEUNG for a rich but insincere womanizer. SHING-SHEUNG means to pick up KA-MAN at the airport, But being delayed by work. he sends WAI to pick her up . WAI is enamoured by KA-MAN, which deeply embarrasses KA-MAN. KA-MAN thinks that SHING-SHEUNG is intentionally neglecting her and asks WAI to find out the truth. However, unable to stand the polarity, she finally asks WAI to send SHING-SHEUNG a present and clears the misunderstanding.

Though reluctant initially, YUK-CHU finally gives in to her mother's persuasion and returns home. YAN CHAI' has been planting his own supporters in the factory and asks CHUN-POR to instigate a strike for better pay WAI. However helps SHING-SHEUNG by inviting dis~runt1ed workers hack to work which greatly pleases SHING-SHEUNG. SHING-SHEUNG misses his appointment with KA-MAN and asks WAl to notify her. The two bumps into YUK-CHU who gets into fits of jealousy, In order to find out more about SHING-SHEUNG's private life. KA ?MAN disgruntled as an applicant for a secretarial opening in the factory. SHING SHEUNG discovers and makes a fool of her, but he also explain that he has to sacrifice part of his private life for his career. SHING-SHEUNG and KA-MAN invite WAI and YUK-CHU to dinner. WAI is disheartened seeing how close SHING-SHEUNG and KA-MAN are, and he drinks a lot.

KA-MAN discovers that WAl and YUK-CHU have a problem in t.hei r relationship and tries to bring them together. The two finally come to express their feelings to each other. In order to reap huge profits. CHAT masterminds an arson at YAN's warehouses , which forces SH ING-SHEUNG to subcontract the jobs to a cottage factory so as to meet the deadlines of orders. CHAT puts all the blame for the fire on LUNG who is the security guard and points the flaws in LAU YAT-CHING's management, therefore forcing the latter to resign. KIT-CHONG discovers that PAK is reluctant to leave his rather aIone in Hong Kong and has been trying to delay their emigration plans. Disgruntled , she asks a shady emigration consultant to speed up their application. But unfortunately she is cheated of a Iarge sum. The two argue heatedl y and KIT-CHONG leaves home furiously.

On a country outgoing, CHUNG and CHI pass by CHAT's villa and find CHAT's son SIU-KEUNG chasing after his maid with a knife. CHUNG uses his power to stop SIU-KEUNG. Fearful that CHUNG will disclose his family secrets, CHAT tries every way to please CHUNG. CHAT sets up another trap for SHING-SHEUNG by sending his mistress, LISA, to disguise as a western-educated rich girl who claims to be looking for a partner for her million-dollar investment. CHUNG comes to CHAT's vi l l a to play with SIU-KEUNG. Suspicious that CHUNG is going out with KA-MAN, YUK-CHU follows CHUNG, But she falls from a tree when trying to peep at CHUNG, which greatly embarrasses herself. SHING-SHEUNG is convinced by CHAT that LISA is a bona-fide investor. He tries to further their business ties by winning her heart. CHAT is pleased that. SHING-SHEUNG is falling into his trap.

SHING-SHEUNG puts his date with KA-MAN off but is found by KA-MAN in a hotel room with LISA. KA-MAN in furious and proposes to break up. PAK sends his father LUNG to deliver some vegetables but due to his age, LUNG is getting senile and cannot find his way. He is guided home by his neighbour , KIT-CHONG realises her departure brings a lot of problems to the family. Feeling guilty. she finally goes back to the Wongs. SHING SHEUNG receives a lot of orders, but discovers that LISA has disappeared. Leaving him financially stranded. Unable to pay his workers, a labor strike is looming, which is eventually settled with the help of CHUNG. CHAT plans to force SHING SHEUNG out of the company board but CHUNG manages to find a client to absorb a substantial amount of orders and turns the table around. CHUNG becomes more important to the company and the Wongs’ livelihood is greatly improved.

WAI and YUK-CHU grow fond of each other as they go through the trouble together. Out of jealousy, CHUNG in the underworld uses his power to disturb his family. Fail to achieve his aim, CHUNG through KIT-CHONG's mouth reveals to his family WAI's scheme of possessing his body to come to this world. He also makes YUK-CHU confess her knowing the whole story. CHUNG's family hopes CHUNG to come back and ask help from a temple master. YUK-CHU interferes as she doesn't want to hurt WAI. Finally, CHUNG and WAI come together and WAl agrees to recede from the love battle. CHAT is furious with SHTNG-SHEUNG's business . decisions which cause him' to lose money in his private set-up. SHING-SHEUNG also discovers that CHAT is stealing materials from his factory. He forces CHAT out of the company board. As a form of revenge as well as for money. CHAT contrives to kidnap SIHNG-SHEUNG but gets WAI mistakenly.

YUK-CHU waits on WAI's bedside. WAI finally wakes up but due to the shock, he loses his memory temporarily. KA-MAN is moved by SHlNG-SHEUNG's love for her and she agrees to marry him. CHAT at the same time drives SHING SHEUNG out of the Yan's house. YUK-CHU uses all endeavour to help WAl to gain back his memory but with no avail. One day, they meet SIU-KEUNO when she accompanies WAI to the hospital for regular check-up. . The lighter that SIU KEUNG is carrying reminds WAI of the kidnap and he begins to remember the past gradually. After investigation, SHING-SHEUNG finds out that CHAT is related to the kidnap. Since he hasn't got the proof, he has to wait for the time to come.

WAI asks CHUNG in the underworld to help to put CHAT to jail and agrees to give him back his body. YUK-CHU conflicts on hearing the news. WAI pretends his death while CHUNG scares CHAT with his spiritual apparition. On the other hand, WAI plots to make KWAN KUEN to be adverse with CHAT. KWAN KUEN takes hostage of SIU-KEUNG‧ for money and accidentally kills him which ultimately causes CHAT's insanity. WAI, in accomplishing his mission, waits to return to the underworld. YUK-CHU feels sorry for his leave. When WAI returns to the underworld, he finds that CHUNG has loses confidence and his love t'or VUK-CHU. CHUNG decides to live someone's life instead when he reincarnates….
