Season 1

In the windy desert, troops of the Sung Dynasty are escorting the birthday present from different places to the royal palace. Although they are highly alerted, they do not know that they have been followed by NAM - the daughter of the master of Evil Sect. Most soldiers are killed except one official who goes to seek help from BAO CHING. CHING knows that only GIN CHIU can compete with NAM, so he asks for CHIU's helping hand. However CHIU refuses. CHING and the officer continue their way and they are lurked by NAM again. When CHING is on the brink of death, CHIU appears and saves him.

CHIU knows that CHING is a incorruptible official and thus he promises to join CHING's trip. NAM is scolded for her vain attempt in getting the birthday present. As the birthday present ties closely to the well-being of Evil Sect, NAM determines to get it again. On the other hand "Fury Mouse" PAK YUK TONG is also keeping an eye on CHING as he wants to get the birthday present so as to show his discontent with the royal family. At night, a secret masked man goes to Evil Sect and orders the master of Evil Sect and NAM to finish the project as soon as possible.

The masked man is KWOK WAI - an eunuch. WAI lusts for the throne and the success of his plan is highly relied on the birthday present. TONG stops CHING and he has a duel with CHIU. TONG at last is defeated and they mutually appreciate each others' talent. CHING is able to arrive at the outskirts of the capital. WAI tries to make him stay. At night WAI goes to steal the birthday present and he is driven away by CHIU. The emperor knows that CHIU is a competent fighter and appoints him as the "Royal Cat" so as to help him fight WAI.

TONG is angry as CHIU is regarded as the "Royal Cat" and he knows that they will have a deadly duel soon. CHIU is hated by WAI as CHIU punishes WAI's subordinates in the capital. WAI forces the master of Evil Sect to attack CHING and CHIU. NAM is responsible for the job but she fails again. She is forced by the master to swallow a poisonous centipede. NAM uses tricks to stay in CHING's house and CHIU treats her good without any suspect. NAM feels guilty but for her own life, she tricks CHIU to Evil Sect. There CHIU defeats all the people and when he wants to kill the master, he is stopped by NAM. When he knows than NAM has tricked him, he is depressed.

CHIU wins fame after he defeats the members of Evil Sect. TONG is jealous. Therefore he steals the chop of a senior official, WAI accuses CHIU in front of the emperor and CHIU is instructed to get in back within a month. CHIU has a duel with TONG. TONG is reminded by his lover FAN TI and defeats CHIU. CHIU is impressed by TI. TONG also returns the chop. WAI knows TONG's talent and wants to employ him but TONG ignores him. WAI is angry and steals the birthday present, blaming TONG as the thief. TONG is chased after by the government officials.

WAI takes the birthday present and from it, he learns martial arts from a "Sacred Scroll". Meanwhile, TONG's adopted elder brothers FONG and CHEUNG use TONG's name and commit robbery. CHIU goes to arrest TONG. In chaos, common people is killed. Under pressure, CHING blames CHIU and CHIU determines to catch FONG and CHEUNG. In the market place, CHIU meets NAM and he counsels her. On the other hand, FONG and CHEUNG take refuge in the royal temple. There they kill monks in the name of CHIU so as to get CHIU involved. CHING wants to arrest CHIU. CHIU is discontented and resigns.

CHIU is depressed and he meets NAM again. When CHIU knows that NAM has been poisoned, he worries much. Therefore he accompanies her. Meanwhile TONG knows the facts from FONG and CHEUNG and he feels guilty as he has misunderstood CHIU. WAI uses CHIU's crime as an excuse to force CHING to resign, luckily TONG brings FONG and CHEUNG to release CHING. When WAI's people take FONG and CHEUNG away, TONG sets them free. TONG is discontented with WAI's attitude, so he goes to steal WAI's fortune and distribute it to the poor. WAI is angry. At the same time, the dispute between TONG and CHIU has not been settled down because of FONG and CHEUNG.

CHIU wants to organize local people to fight with TONG. However no one accepts his idea as they have received TONG's money. TONG continues his robbery work and this puts CHING in a problematic situation. In order to accuse CHING, WAI advises the mother queen to pray in Hoi Fung. CHING and CHIU are responsible for her safety. They know that it is WAI's trick and they worry much. To their surprise, both the emperor and mother queen are safe. Instead CHING is kidnapped. CHIU goes to see TONG and finds that TONG has been the kidnapper. TONG asks CHIU to give him the emperor in order to get CHING released.

CHIU and the others have no idea in saving CHING. NAM knows it and catches the emperor when he is hunting. She advises CHIU to save CHING. As he has no other choice, CHIU follows her instruction. CHIU brings the emperor to see TONG. They have a fight. NAM uses the time to find CHING. CHING is released. CHIU and NAM hurt TONG. TONG escapes but TI is arrested. CHIU entangles TI and she is annoyed. At last she promises to bring CHIU to see TONG. In fact she wants to escape. Unluckily both of them fall down a cliff. With co-operation, they overcome the situation.

CHIU lets TI go but TI is suspected by FONG and CHEUNG. They want to kill her and CHIU saves her and brings her back to Hoi Fung. NAM suffers from the poison and TI tells CHIU that the only way to cure her to find the sacred spring. At last they find it and NAM is cured. However this creates a triangular entanglement among them. CHING shows CHIU that a jade accessary cab prove WAI guilty. However it disappears. They suspect TI but in fact NAM has taken it for she is WAI's daughter.

WAI wants TONG to help him and they have a duel. After it, TONG appreciates WAI's talent and he promises to help WAI. Although both TI and NAM admire CHIU, TI feels inferior for her background and she decides to retreat. CHIU is disappointed as he is aware that TI tries to bridge NAM and him. WAI has a compromise with the emperor and Xi Ha. He tricks the Sung emperor to lead a troop to confront soldiers from Xi Ha. CHING and CHIU are instructed to protect the emperor. TONG is ready to attack them.

On the border, CHIU wants to arrange the soldiers to defend attack but he is stopped by WAI. WAI arranges soldiers of Xi Ha to attack barrage. With the pope of Xi Ha's magic, the emperor is caught. WAI orders CHIU to find the emperor they will be killed. NAM gets the news and she begs WAI to let them go. WAI ignores her and they have a quarrel. The emperor is humiliated after being kidnapped. TONG is appreciated by the emperor of Xi Ha, who wants to employ him. However TONG refuses and instead he saves the emperor. It is because he wants to have a duel with CHIU under fair conditions. WAI is angry as his plan is spoiled.

TONG becomes the emperor's new official and becomes proud. CHIU is upset. TONG goes to CHING and wants to take TI back. Though TI misses CHIU, she has to go. WAI is angry with TONG so he tricks him so as to force him to have a deadly duel with CHIU. TONG is trusted by the emperor and he no longer respects WAI. TI observes it and reminds him not to be used by WAI to get rid of CHIU. TONG is jealous and he uses excuse to humiliate CHIU in front of the others. CHIU tolerates his act.

TI is happy to see CHIU overcoming all TONG's unreasonable act on him. TONG is even more angry. WAI knows that both TONG and CHIU are his stumbling blocks, so he requests the pope of Xi Ha to use magic to control CHIU, making him attack the emperor. He also wants to blame TONG as CHIU's colleague. Luckily, TI stops CHIU and brings him away. To prove that he is innocent, TONG tries to arrest CHIU. On the other hand, CHIU is controlled by magic again and he nearly kills TI. TI goes to TONG's house to find solution to save CHIU. TONG discovers her and finds CHIU. CHIU is on the brink of death.

When TONG wants to kill CHIU, TI protects CHIU. TONG is angry and runs away. CHIU loses his control again and TI has to go to the market to buy medicine. NAM finds the solution and she also tries to find CHIU. TI and NAM meet and they discover that the only way to cure CHIU is to get rid of his internal energy. Though CHIU is cured, he is shocked as he has lost all his martial arts. WAI has not obtained all the birthday present and before he gets it, TONG takes a faster step. To get it, WAI kidnaps TI and for Tl's safety, TONG gives WAI what he wants.

After WAI gets all the necessary information, he focuses on studying martial arts and everything seems to be calm. TONG worries. TI returns to CHIU and CHIU tells her that he has accepted the fact, but he is still depressed. Love consolidates between them. NAM is upset to see this. CHING wants CHIU to help him. Though CHIU has lost his martial arts, CHING reminds him that he should still fight for justice. CHIU agrees and promises to stay beside him. TI and NAM go to Shao Lin Temple to find ways to restore CHIU's internal energy. NAM is hurt for CHIU. TI knows that NAM also loves CHIU and she promises to leave CHIU after he has recovered. At last they manage to heal CHIU. Meanwhile WAI has also completed his study. A deadly duel is on the brink of explosion.

WAI thinks that he is the mightiest fighter, thus he kills the mother queen. The emperor orders TONG to arrest WAI. TONG summons colleagues to fight WAI. CHIU also joins the troop. All of them are tricked by WAI and are led to a cavern. Most of the people are killed. TONG is trapped. Before WAI leaves, he lights some bombs and luckily TONG is released by CHIU, TI and NAM. At last TONG is convinced by CHIU that they should co-operate for justice against WAI. At the same time, CHING is falsely accused by WAI and is imprisoned.

The emperor is under WAI's control and WAI is ready to take the throne. TI advises TONG and CHIU to use swords together. However TONG is jealous of CHIU for TI and he cannot concentrate. At the same time, NAM realises that CHIU loves TI only. She poisons TI and TONG. Luckily TONG is able to regain self-control. CHIU is angry and claims that he loves TI. TONG and CHIU have a duel and this unexpectedly makes their sword ship a perfect match. So they agree to ignore all personal hatred and love affairs and fight WAI first. CHING is to be prosecuted. CHIU and TONG go to save him and TI disappears as she wants to delay the troops.

TI is hurt and CHIU saves her. CHIU thinks that NAM hurts TI for jealous. Being misunderstood, NAM is depressed. NAM overhears the conversation of CHING, CHIU and TONG. She knows that the only way to kill WAI to attack him at the only weak point. Thus she pretends to betray CHIU and fallows WAI. However she does not succeed. CHIU and TONG go to attack WAI so as to save the emperor. They are nearly killed and luckily NAM comes to protect them. WAI is so angry that he discloses his weak point. CHIU and TONG focus their attack on the weak point and WAI is defeated. Before he is arrested, he hurts NAM.

WAI is arrested and does not admit his crime. At last CHING uses tricks, making WAI believe that he has died and is sent to hell. Being frightened, he admits everything and at last he is killed. CHIU and TI do not know what to do as NAM is hurt for them. Before she dies, NAM praises them and this solves the situation. TONG also understands that he cannot force TI to love him, so he leaves. However he claims that he will still be a chivalrous thief to be the competent of CHIU.
