Kevin O'Connor

Kevin O’Connor is an American television personality who has hosted the long-running PBS home renovation series This Old House since 2003. Born in Maplewood, New Jersey, he grew up around construction, learning from his father, a civil engineer. After graduating from Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School, he earned a B.A. in history from the College of the Holy Cross and an MBA from Boston University. Before his television career, O’Connor worked in finance, holding senior positions at Fleet Bank and Bank of America. His television career began unexpectedly when a letter he and his wife sent to This Old House led the crew to his home for a house call on Ask This Old House. Impressed by his curiosity and enthusiasm, producers offered him the hosting job after Steve Thomas’s departure. O’Connor soon became the third host in the show’s history.
