Anna, a delinquent young woman, lives in the shadows of Montreal with her brother and their friends. The group survives by committing low-level crimes, but she truly thrives by detailing her story in journals. One day, the young woman narrowly escapes a violent altercation with a local gangster after a robbery gone wrong. The toll is heavy for the group but there is a silver lining. In the chaos of the night, a literary professor finds Anna's diary. Longing for something better, she seizes this opportunity to take charge and turn her life around. She soon realizes that the price to pay is high, and the past is not so easily forgotten.
